Hello, everyone. I travel a lot and would like to keep fit. I have a goal in mind and would like to stay committed to it. I reside in Durham, NC and would love to have a workout partner or at least someone to keep me motivated and on task with my goal. Even when there are days that I do not feel like it. I am currently working in PA and would like to reach out to community on great foods to eat and possible exercises I can do while traveling.

I keep a jump rope and resistance band in my suitcase and I also recently bought the 30 day shred DVD which I can play on my laptop when away. Before I bought all that stuff I used to just go out for a brisk walk in the evening for at least an hour.
Food is much more difficult. When you are working away you relinquish control to a certain extent because you aren't the one preparing the food and your job sometimes dictates where you eat. In those cases I just try to choose the healthier items on the menu, have dressings supplied on the side and resist the pressure to have 3 courses because everyone else at the table is.

I travel a moderate amount. Cereal bars or protein bars make a great breakfast along with your hotel's in room coffee- and economical too! Also you can run into a store (or take with you, if you are traveling domestically) and pick up fruit and other things like that. I belong to Curves which is great for traveling because you can use whatever one is closest, but sometimes I also enjoy "playing with" the equipment in hotel gyms.0

Hi there. I use to travel for work so understand. If the hotel you stay at has a fitness center, then problem solved. If not, then jump rope of exercise bands easily fit into a suitcase. Also DVDs for the laptop as already suggested.
Food was always an issue. If the hotel has a refrigerator, I use to ask where the nearest grocery store was and go shopping for salad stuff that could be used for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was relatively easier. There are also apps for your phone that have the calorie counts for most chain restaurants. Also, I picked up a small book that has those restaurants listed with calorie, fat and carb count for many of their menu items. At least I had a good idea of what I was eating.
Hope this helps!0
