The elation of seeing you have 500 calories left then the crushing sadness of finding you forgot to add your 400 calorie lunch.

And the despair when the discovery comes AFTER you treat yourself to a bedtime snack.14

This is one of the major drawbacks of being someone who wings it and not a pre-logger/food prepper. So many sad moment when you so nearly gorge on something delicious and then can't.2

But when the opposite happens and you think you only have a small amount of calories left but then you realize something double logged - WHOOOOO HOOOO!9

I tried prelogging and meal planning. Turns out I hate schedules. Never worked and I'd end up rebelling against my own system. I resent anyone telling me what to do..including myself. I'm happier when I'm unfettered from responsibility. I function better and get more done.7

 story of my life LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
generally though, i TRY to prelog everything. for me, it works best.0

That happened to me the other day. I logged my food after going to the movies with my hubby and was happy to see that I was only a little over my daily goal.
THEN I remembered a Starbucks grande whole milk latte that I had after the movie...ouch0

I never tried it. Well, I low level do it sometimes but like you, I always end up rebelling and changing if I'm not stuck with what's in the fridge/my bank balance. The number of times I just order in because I give my fridge food choices the finger is ridiculous. But I still lose as they should so I WIN, in yo' face devil on my shoulder.0

"Forget to have lunch"... I don't think I've ever done that!2

This is me all over.MinuitMinuet wrote: »I tried prelogging and meal planning. Turns out I hate schedules. Never worked and I'd end up rebelling against my own system. I pre-log only in the sense that I log immediately before I consume things. That gives me the opportunity to look at the calories and macros for what I plan to eat and change my portion size or decide to eat something else before it's too late. I get spontaneity plus the benefits of planning without the actual planning.
Pre-logging right before things go into my mouth has also cut way down on the "elation then sadness" moments for me. It took a while to form the habit but I've done well with it.1
