My Dr. wants me to lose 60lbs by December 2017 and suggested that I go on a 1000 calorie diet. When I googled 1000 calorie diets, I realized he's crazy, and that's impossible. Because the 1st day of trying it, I was dizzy most of the day and all I could do was lay down.
So after a week of trying to eat right (around 1200 calories) I realize that I need help ( admitting that I need help is big for me). And I remembered using MFP before and I like having to log everything I eat and drink, and I'm hoping for lasting results. But this go-round I'd like to talk/write to others that are struggling as I am or have been where I am.

Losing 60lbs in 2.5 months seems drastic. Why by Dec, what's going on in January?

Is the 60 lbs related to a surgery? 60 lbs by Dec is very extreme. 1000 is drastic.. 1200 is better.
Get a food scale, they run about $20.00. I actually have 2 (1 at home & 1 at work). Measure your food that way, measuring cups & spoons aren't accurate enough.
Choose foods that have substance to them, try to make the most of your 1200 calories. No empty calories :sodas, (dry snacks-crackers, pop corn, cookies).
