Question for exercise junkies!

So I've been stuck in a rut where I'll go to the gym hop on the elliptical and train for about half hour. Maybe walk/run the treadmill for 20 after. What else should I be doing to begin building muscle? Thanks in advance.

I would definitely recommend you start to focus more on strength training. Ideally following an established program.1

Hello i do a mixture if cardio and weights
it’s worth asking a gym instructor for a program (most gyms do a program for free, in mine you can have a new one every 6 weeks). They will show you how to use equipment correctly, push you to work to your full potential and advise on what you should be doing to achieve a set goal (build muscle, lose weight, etc). And how often you should go.
Most gyms have classes too, so you could always try these out to give you a bit of a change and meet new people who can give you ideas. YouTube is full of great work outs, but I’d say to get a professional to show you how to do certain exercises, so you do not injure yourself

if you want to build muscle you need a progressive overload lifting programme and either newbie gains or a calorie surplus0

I basically agree with the others. Get some focus and purpose to your workouts, and increase the resistance significantly. Heavy lifting is the easiest way to do this, but there are other ways if lifting isn't an option for you.0
