I would love to try to connect with some other like-minded post menopausal women, maybe we can help each other stay on track. I first joined myfitnesspal in 2015 and lost some weight, but now I've had so many changes in my life in such a short period of time that I'm emotional eating like crazy. Would love to help each other stay accountable, and just basic support! Thanks!

I've just signed up for a months trial to see if I could stick with the food tracking. I'm 64. 223 pds. Swim mostly 1 or 2 times a week. My aim is to lose some weight and gradually increase exercise. Hope we are both on the right track now0

It helps to have a routine. Can you go for a daily walk? Perhaps to your local library? I am convinced, in my maturity, that the public library is one of the great democratizers in our society. Besides, you can't eat there.1

Same, same, same (or at least similar). I'm 57, retired empty-nester who also gained quite a bit of weight when I stopped working. Even though I had a desk job, I was pretty active and always walked on breaks and lunch, took the stairs, long way around to the bathroom, etc.
My advice is to nip this trend in the bud as soon as possible! Once I came to my senses, got off my butt and quit stuffing my pie hole things turned around pretty quickly.
Start logging all your food every single day in the food diary and try to stay in a deficit. Get some exercise in several days a week. I joined the local swimming pool and started going to aquasize classes. Made a bunch of new friends and it's fun! Find some exercise challenges here on MFP so you can connect with people. Post on your newsfeed for support. You can do this!!

I'm assuming you mean a trial period for the premium MFP? Because the basic app (and online) is free. I'm not even sure what more the premium gives you, but if you like MFP you can continue without paying for it. (Just an FYI).1 -
I have been on before but have never stuck with it. I am 56 going through menopause and at my Dr visit last month have passed 200 lbs. I am determined to get some weight off and really not diet just change my lifestyle to get healthy. I am tracking what I eat and exercising but could use some friends to get healthy with.0

I've been walking consistently for the past year, just logged 400 miles. I'm looking for friends and motivation, my scales have been stuck at 42lbs loss for a few months now...... consistency is my key!! Loved to hear from anyone and your success stories0

This is my third attempt at MFP in the last few years. Each of the first two times I lost about 40 pounds and then quit, only to put it back on. (That was not goal - that was about the half way point) I am 59 years old and have been an off and on dieter since 1978 which was the first of MANY times that I walked into a WW meeting. Last year I tried WW online and once again, lost about 40 pounds and quit. I thought about trying that again, but I like the flexibility of MFP and the "points" thing can drive you crazy....not to mention the 20 bucks/month! So, I just got serious again a few days ago and welcome any and all friends in our age group.0

53 years old here. Have lost 80 lbs in just over a year... if I have learned one thing this year it has been "do it out of self love" Try hard because you love yourself. Exercise because you love yourself. Fuel your body dont feed the beast. and lastly, I had a phrase that kept popping into my head early on: I want MY body back. Once the layers of this journey started unfolding in front of me....well there was no looking back. The time is now. All the best to you! All the best! You can do it. You must.
