Planning a dessert binge...
So one weekend in November I'm planning on gorging on a huge dessert to scratch the itch so to speak.
I'm gonna eat light in the morning and then go on a long hike and when I get done I will devour a huge dessert.
My choices are:
-make a boxed brownie mix like normal
-make a boxed brownie mix without oil or egg but with non fat yogurt/unsweetened Apple sauce
-buy a premade angel food cake and eat it plain or with some icing
- buy a premade buttercream frosted cake or cupcakes
- Buy a premade buttercream frosted cake slice
My question to y'all is should I go all out with a butter cream cake or just get a slice?
Or if I'm craving brownies, just make it like normal or with the "better for you" substitutions?

Don't do it.
Buy one delicious brownie/ cup cake and stop at that. Savour every bite, log it and enjoy guilt free. That way you can enjoy a treat like that more regularly.

Make whichever you are craving the most, have a slice or two but give the rest away like, out of the house. I think indulging once in a while is ok but I can't keep it to one day if I have an entire tray of brownies or a cake. The black bean brownies are actually really good if you go that route.0

If you're going to do it....do it right. Buy one piece of a delicious brownie or cake and enjoy.2

make the brownies, eat a serving, ENJOY it and log it.. share the rest at work (or with family).2

??? Work in a treat you like every day to your allotment so that you don't have this itch to binge. You don't have to give up the food you love to lose weight.2

IMO, if you're not craving something specific, it's not worth wasting calories on it 'just because'.
But boxed stuff is never worth the calories anyway (and if it's bought cake, it better be from the best bakery in the area).2 -
Which weekend? I've noticed that when I eat a bunch of sweets, it's just not as flavorful as it had been when I was obese. I offer no hypothesis to explain it. It's just different, and less pleasant.0

The problem I have with just buying or eating one serving is that I'll crave it again soon. I feel like if I just overly scratch the itch that I won't touch it for awhile. Plus, I'm a volume eater. A little slice doesn't do anything for me0

I would totally make brownies like normal (and maybe a batch of just the batter with yogurt/applesauce so it’s safe to taste in large quantities)!0

Are you talking about Thanksgiving weekend? Also, eat adequate nutritional calories so you have the proper energy and nutrition for your hike and your day.0 -
The correct answer is secret option X - bake chocolate chip cookies from scratch and eat as many as you like, straight out of the oven, warm and gooey, with milk.2

Have a party, eat all the food. Enjoy yourself. Its just one day.0

I feel sad and stressed... I'm planning a binge... okay just got back from the KFC drive through... [pig sounds]... just consumed 12,000 calories standing in the kitchen... I feel sick... God I'm disgusting
See! It's really easy!!!!0 -
I vote for the brownies mix like normal with nuts - because they are good for you
or
The slice of cake, don't get a whole cake because you more than likely will eat more than you really want to just so you don't waste, I know you could share but then it becomes more about that then you just scratching that itch!!!
I love questions like this, it just helps us to know we are not alone with our eating dilemmas.0 -
That sounds really good.... but 100% cacao dark chocolate for me0
