mashed potatoes or cauliflower, cottage cheese and peaches if you dice them small, scrambled eggs are good, toast wth peanut butter. Pretty much anything you can kinda mash against the roof of your mouth with your tongue. Fish cooked all falling aprt.
Just a few ideas for ya, good luck!0 -
Oatmeal
Protein shakes/meal replacement shakes
Green smoothies
Scrambled eggs with lots of milk in them (they're soft enough to tongue instead of chew)
Avocado
Applesauce (no sugar added)
You can also puree some fruit and eat it that way, or make frozen fruit pops. That would be yummy, healthy, and might help soothe some of your mouth pain.0 -
Cottage cheese?
For some reason this was one of the worst thing to eat when I had braces. The aftermath of cottage cheese on braces is NOT pretty, especially if you aren't going to brush right after.
Whenever I had my bands tightened it hurt to move my mouth, let alone chew. Yogurt and kefir will be your best friends during that time. I would also just blend a whole bunch of fruits for a smoothie. I'll come back once I remember what else I ate.0 -
fruit smoothies ~ this one by Rocco DiSpirito out of his 'Now Eat This Diet ' book is one of my favorites:
2 cups ice
1 scoop French Vanilla whey protein powder (I use Designer Whey)
12 ounces water
2 cups unsweetened frozen strawberries
1 packet (3 grams) sugar free strawberry drink mix, such as Crystal Light
Toss all of the ingredients in blender & mix for about 3-5 minutes. The more you mix it, the greater the volume. I sometimes substitute Chocolate for the Vanilla protein powder; tastes like chocolate covered strawberries.
It makes 2 servings, 107 calories each
1 g fat (0.5g sat / 0g mono / 0g poly)
27.5mg cholesterol
33mg sodium
15g carbohydrates
3g fiber
10g protein
You could also try soups, mashed potatoes (sweet potatoes are the best with a little cinnamon mixed in) sugar free Popsicles or even ice cream (in moderation, of course!) Hope you feel better soon!! :flowerforyou:0 -
thanks for all the great suggestions!0
