Cascade Pass - best of all hiking trails (pics)

Well, it's my favorite, anyway. This trail has everything: old growth fir cathedrals, towering craggy peaks, glaciers, open meadows, wildflowers and safe avalanche watching, and a 10,000 year history as a trade route. This is the only trail I hike every year.

The trail starts with 30+ switchbacks through the woods.

But then it opens up and you're in the high country.

You are really an inspiring guy.
I may have to root out my hiking boots and get a few shorter hikes in this winter. Brrr.

@lorrpb I have just downloaded and read the training links you posted, so there is a north of the border PNW possibility.

    We do have spectacular scenery.

Hate the both of you as I really look forward to curling up with a good book on cold winter weekends. :)

    Cheers, h.
