Couch surfing!

Any of you done it? Any hosted? I had my travel plans ruined by unforseen circumstances and now I am weighing my options traveling alone to New York. It would seem like couch surfing has a lot to offer eg. Company, a place to stay, getting to see the city through the eyes of a local etc.

So if anyone has any experiences about this method of traveling, I'd highly appreciate hearing them!

    This is exactly the case for me, It seems like the best option for me having a hostel near-by as backup plan.
