It's at night watching TV, that hour or so before bed, I'm like a women possessed, mm what can I eat!!! It that just me, eating outta boredom x2

Battle of the will. I'm hung up on carbs. I try to cut calories and move the weight down slowly. I am now on a fast. I realize that I eat not because I am hungry, but because of habit.2

Totally, sometimes I can't open the fridge to get milk without eating a slice of ham, or dipping into what ever catches my eye first x0

You'll laugh at 45 I've started to try and chew my food more, and it works, you feel full, knackered with chewing

Night time eating gets to me too, especially when I get my kids to bed and have quiet and can enjoy anything without my kids wanting it themselves or needing me for something. I try and drink a cold glass of ice water and pre-plan my day to allow for 200 calories for a nighttime snack (couple cookies, Halo ice cream, popcorn).5

Right back at you, I get it, last week I was feeling so hungry. Eating all the time, empty crisp bags and biscuits wrappers in my dressing gown, while I've been watching TV, so this week when I felt like eating crap, I tidied out a drawer, by the time I was done, no longer hungry, and ready for bed, win/win2

have you tried intermittent fasting? Really helps with my night time cravings.1 -
Yep- I eat out of habit, emotions, and especially a tie to whatever activity I'm doing. Popcorn in front the TV at night is my favorite, so I eat the light kind and fit it into my calories for the day. I am a social eater too- it's the most difficult when I go home to see my family in Louisiana because everything we do revolves around food and drink. I'm still negotiating with myself on that- I plan my treats and calorie overages now so I won't feel deprived instead of planning to be so strict that I break halfway through and eat/drink everything in sight, then feel terrible.
I'm feeling much better nowadays. I guess we'll see how things go when I visit LA for the holidays.2 -

Days like that, I reach for the 2L of diet rootbeer and pour myself a glass. Something about the diet rootbeer taste that makes me thinking I am drinking a rootbeer float. Zero calories and gets me until bedtime.3 -
So, was that first week not as bad as you thought it was gonna be, keep on keeping on0

I'm on fire if I prep, if not I'm like a zombie, away to the vending machine spending money on food I know I will regret eating, cause after I finish my can of diet coke and eat my bar of chocolate, I am full of wind and fit to burst x

Night time snacking (and wine drinking) is what put on most of my weight....plus just slowing down in general. I used to eat about 4-5 snacks a night plus 2-3 glasses of wine, sometimes including another "meal" like waffles or pancakes. Now I save 200 calories for after dinner (which isn't much). However it will let me have a couple things such as a diet dessert (5-100 calories), a piece of fruit, celery and low-fat cream cheese, a few nuts, an oz of beef jerky, or light popcorn, and almost every night I have a cup of Hershey's cocoa with cashew milk, Stevia, and a shot of whipped cream (total 50 cals) which keeps me from going to bed hungry. I'm not suffering most of the time. I did have to quit the nightly wine drinking, but allow myself a couple glasses when I'm in social situations and make up for it later. I pre-log all my calories (when I don't I regret it) and adjust as necessary before the damage is done.1

I've been brutal this weekend, had a Halloween party, drank and ate too much, I'm here to tell the tale, then ate comfort food today, so back on track tomorrow, what's done is done, onwards and upwards, the truth, I loved every minute of it❤❤ x1

It is a mental thing, for the most part. How is your relationship with food? That is what it all boils down to. For me, food is fuel. Sure, I like this better than that, and I enjoy food at social events. But it all has to fit within your budget. I also think of food like money. I have so much money to spend today. Think of Dave Ramsey and his 'envelope system'. You have an envelope for the rent, you have an envelope for gas (car), you have an envelope for your car, and and and. You can do the same thing with food.
There is no real 'good food' or 'bad food' (very general statement.....there are, naturally, foods that are not good for people because of some medical condition or food allergy.....but, generally speaking, there is no good food or bad food....).
One of the keys is to put yourself in a position for success. If you love pizza but have been told that pizza is bad and that you should not eat it.....all things being equal....don't listen to those telling you that. Just make sure that once you figure out how many calories per day you are going to eat to meet your current goals that you have a 'Pizza envelope'. If it fits!
And, just know that if you want that Pizza that you might have to go without something......just to make the pizza fit.
