I need to drop 30 pounds. Any ideas on what to eat, I will appreciate any help on what works for someone with low thyroid levels.

I would keep my favorites, but find a way to make the more nutritious, less animal/saturated/trans fatty, and lower sugar (lower calorie would be nice too). Examples would be tacos but with whole wheat shells with more veg and less dairy. Portion control is a good strategy to help prevent overeating calories. Start swapping in low calorie snacks to replace any calorie dense or rich foods you've been snacking on - low, or no-butter popcorn instead of chips, fruity flavored water instead of soda (la croix?), etc.

If you have a love for fruit and fresh produce, bring that front and center and start eating more of it as fuel.

Eat a variety of healthy foods you like and that fill you up. Your goal is to stay within your deficit and the pounds will come off. Do some Google searches. Here is one I found from NEMDIS National Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases Information Service - A balanced diet is recommended for people with hypothyroidism, according to NEMDIS. This includes eating a good balance of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, legumes, low-fat dairy foods, plant-based oils, lean meats, seafood, poultry or soy products, eggs and legumes.

Slowly try to swap the animal foods for vegetarian foods. Experiment with fruits, vegetables and nuts to find ones that you enjoy. Also try different cooking methods and recipes. It's a long journey and a very worth while one. The MFP logging of course is very important. Good luck.

Food you like that fits your calorie allowance. Logging your normal intake for a couple of days can help in finding where you can cut a few calories without making drastic changes.
