    Welcome and good luck!
  • I've only been here a month yet I feel like I totally see eating and exercising in a different light. Keeping track of my daily calories and really seeing what I am eating is helping me make better choices! May the same happen for you! It's no longer a "oh I just ate that so I may as well continue with the junk". Now I see it all in the total picture and I feel motivated to make healthy choices each day!

You can do it! Like the poster before me said, log everything. It is so important and really what I was missing the other times I tried to "eat right". I have found that there are 5 things I have to do to lose weight, and they are.....

    Sleep (at least 7 hours)
Eat (for me it is 1200 very carefully chosen calories a day)
Drink (at least 8 glasses of water a day)
Log my food (it keeps me honest and lets me know where my diet can be improved)
Cheat (only day a week, and I can't ever eat until I'm truly full, but I definitely eat the things I've been craving all week)

I've lost 11 lbs in my first full month and I feel fantastic! Stick with this site--you will fall in love with it if you haven't already. Good luck!!
  • I just joined and I'm really excited about it! I think tracking my food will really help ! I need all the support I can get as well! I'm getting married in 7mnts and want to look my best!
  • thanks everybody.
I got up this morning and stepped on the scale to start things off right. My plan is to do that right when I wake up to get a pattern going. I know there will be a lot of daily fluctuation but I enjoy dabbling on the site, graphing results and writing down all the details of what I've eaten.

As part of my normal exercise plan I've been following for a long time, I have a big run planned for today. I still will stay within my 1200 calorie limit, and see how my body feels.
