Any exercises or tips I can follow to making posture better?

Wanted to ask if there was any specific exercises or things I can do to help my posture improve. I have been using a foam roller, trying to sit up straight and also stretches. Back story is I have a desk job (where I am sitting for the majority of the time). Is there anything that will help improve back posture.

Strengthening of the back & other core muscles.3

Deadlift is supposed to help with posture. Anecdotally I think it's helped mine a bit.2

Deadlifts have definitely helped my posture.1

Deep water fitness. It's all about good form in the water. I have found that it has translated to my desk too. Super strong core & back.1

My suggestion would be stronger core, rows and deadlifts1

Correct deadlifts(or kb swings)
Correct Pullups
Correct Pushups
Correct Getups
Doing good exercises with poor form will not help your posture.0 -
Thanks everyone, glad to see a good number of responses! I will have to try to do deadlifts, might have to start light0

Strengthening the muscles in your back and core in general will help improve your posture because the improved muscle strength will help in holding your body more erect,1

Funny how a few people have mentioned yoga, I have looked into it but I know there are different kinds... where does one get started to get their feet wet?!1

Look for an introductory Iyengar Yoga class. It focuses on body alignment.
I walk out of my Sunday class feeling 2 inches taller and incredibly flexible.

Thank you, I will look to see what is available in my area!1 -
Correct posture and spinal alignment is often lost when people don't engage their glute muscles.0

Lots of good thoughts. I'd also say deadlifts help me. If you want to get educated, I'd recommend Deskbound: Standing Up to a Sitting World, by Kelly Starrett
