I appreciate that people have their preferences for terminology. For some, "furkids/babies", will be the only "children", they'll ever have. It's more a term of endearment and affection rather than an actual belief, IMO. Yes, they ARE, animals and I would choose my son over an animal any day of the week, without hesitation, doesn't mean that the love we have for our animal family members is any less valid. Nor the grief we feel when we lose one.
