Finished my first week of couch to 5k. Thursday's run was 90 degrees F; this morning it was 39F. Oh that crazy Texas weather. I felt good this week, but i have to admit finishing a 5k seems way far away.

Welcome to the running club! Keep going. I started with C25K in 2013, and now I have numerous half marathons and 2 full medals hanging on my wall.

Manyofysstarted that way. The program is designed to get you there. Repeat any week you need to. It’s ok.

Started C25K in Jan. I've done 12 5K park runs, 1 9K Terry Fox run, 1 10K run and several 8-10K on my own.

Going to work towards a 1/2 next October. And maybe a try-a-tri in August. It's addictive.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GOOD SHOES. Go to a running store and get a gait analysis done and take their recommendation. Shin splints are not fun.

Good job! I did the C25K this summer, and even at the end of the program I wasn't up to a 5k yet because I'm slow (my training program was based on time rather than distance). Now I run 2 miles 2x/week and 3-4 miles on the weekend, which I would have thought impossible even 6 months ago! Stick with it, it works!

C25K made me a runner. It's an awesome program! Just stick with it and you'll get there eventually. Don't be dumb like me and try to do too much too soon and injure yourself. Remember, it's a marathon and not a race!

    A marathon is a race...

Fwiw I used C25K about five years ago, it's a really good entry to running. I've found that I much prefer longer distances now, with several marathons and ultras under my belt.

I also started with c25k. Six years later, I've completed 3 marathons and 5 half marathons. It's a good program to get you started.

Pssst, I meant the process of building your endurance to become better at running.

Stick with it! It works. I'll be starting week 7 this week! I've never been able to run for this long without stopping ever before in my life. It's great! There are some tough weeks but just slow your pace some if you have to and push through! Good job!

better to go slow and slow and slower still to get to the end of a week rather than repeating weeks too often. It gets disheartening repeating weeks, but that feeling when you realise you have RUN for twenty minutes straight? Priceless.

If you feel you can't continue on a week, S-L-O-W down. You may even be doing a speed that is S-L-O-W-E-R than walking pace, but that's fine - running is a gait and not a speed.

You may (most do) find that at the end of the programme you haven't reached distance - that's fine, be proud of getting to the point where you can run 30 minutes continually, and start bridge to 10k.
