I am a 23 yo university student/wife/mum.
Before my pregnancy i was 52 kg, fit, athletic, healthy eater. Then when i got married i slowly gained 10 kg. And said its okay i will lose them. But never did. I got pregnant and gained 32 kg. Ended up 92 kg on my due date.. gave birth and lost 17 kg in 6 months. Now i am 73 kg and it is not okay.. i look like another person.. my husband is supportive, got me a membership with a dieting doctor and a gym membership and all. But i have stopped losing weight the past 3 months i am just stuck on 73 kg.. yesterday i saw old friends who said i look so different.. and it hit me.. i am doing nothing about it anymore.. my husband even keeps telling me that i still don’t look like i used to.. he is not as attracted to me as he used to.. i mean..he loves me but not attracted to how i look. Anyway.. now i left for a long one month vacation without my husband and told him that when i am back i will be so much thinner. He laughed it off and said “no honey you’ll still be the same, we both know nothing will happen”
So yeah.. now i am up for a challenge that i have challenged myself..to lose 7 kg in a month. I want to be 66 kg when i see him again..i want to surprise myself and surprise him.. i need to gain my self confidence back! I have sero self confidence at the moment.. i always feel so insecure and i am not happy at all..actually i am depressed because of this and i need to do something about it! So i will come to this thread everyday and be accountable and write down how i an doing today and how i am sticking to my plan.
But i need motivation..your motivation.

You can do it. Within you is the power to become the better you. The one you want.

Safe loss is no more than a KG per week; so maximum realistic is about 4KG.

Stick to 1200 calories a day and make sure you get adequate protein.

Do you have control over your meals while on vacation?

That's an unhealthy weight loss goal unfortunately.

As has been said your goal is unrealistic and a 1kg a week is the most you should aim for. You may lose a little extra on the scale the first week or two but that is a water drop and less food transiting through your body.

Your SO doesn't think anything will change while you are away- and your weight may not be significantly different, what can change while you have this month away from him is your attitude and relationship with food.

Work on developing a deficit that you can maintain long term, and then can transition into maintenance.

Work on what is filling for you, more carbs, fat or protein, or an even distribution.

Work on what makes you overeat, and what you can do to avoid doing so. It is different for everyone, some restrict to a time, others not at home, and some just have to avoid the food for a while.

Work on when are the best times to eat, how often you need to eat, and how many snacks vs meals you need in a day.

Work on how your plans fit into your real life once you get home. As long as your meals a mainly nutritious you shouldn't have to eat different food than the rest of your family.

Think of what you can do for half an hour a day (minimum) as exercise, a bit of cardio alternated with some resistance work is good. Can you do activities with the family.

You may not get home with all the weight you plan on losing lost; but you can get home with a positive attitude and a plan that you can share with your SO.

    Cheers, h.
