Weigh solids, measure liquids, log everything using accurate database entries - it's that simple! I like preplanning so I know I can get to the end of the day with calories left for dinner

You weigh, pick correct database entries (or make your own), and log. Let MFP do the counting.

I use a set of gram scales for both solids and liquids and then plug everything in here at MFP. Too easy :D

    Weigh, measure and log accurately.
Eat less calories than you burn and you WILL lose weight
Pretty simple really, but takes perseverance to stick to it.

It gets a bit harder when you eat out because you can't take your scales with you -- Or can you? ;)
That's why I prefer eating at big chain restaurants because they usually have all their calories already logged on My Fitness Pal. Just enter something like Arby's French Dip and Swiss sandwich and, because they weigh the meat in every sandwich, you'll get the exact number added here.
