Hi fellow MFP-ers

I don’t want to impose on anyone or start a rant about charity and that sort of think. I just had a little idea…

We are trying to lose weight, count our calories and how many we use. In the countries of the Horn of Africa, people are struggling to meet the minimum calories they need to survive – ironic in a way. Having decided to make a small donation (instead of buying shoes or something) this month, anyway, I had a little idea and want to share it with you, maybe it will motivate a few people to do one of the following too:

- Donate you daily calorie allowance in pennies or cents (or if you’re rich in £ or $)
- Donate your exercise calories in pennies, cents, dollars, pounds or whatever currency and unit is good for you
- Donate the amount of kilos/pounds you’ve lost in your currency

I’ve sweated up 2908 exercise calories last week, so I will donate £29.08 to the Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC, a coalition of big charities in the UK) today.
