Staying healthy on vacation?

So I've been doing really well lately staying within my recommended calorie limited, eating healthy, and exercising... But I've got a big vacation coming and I'm afraid I will fall off the band wagon with the "it's vacation, I can just relax" mentality and I'm worried about falling back into my old habits. Does anyone have recommendations how to keep my motivation even though I feel like I deserve to be lazy for a couple of days?? I'm going to be vacationing with a bunch of other lazy people so I think it might be extra difficult to force myself to exercise and not over indulge...

What kind of vacation is it? I'm usually much more active on vacation than I am during my everyday life since I have a desk job.0

Why can't you be lazy for a couple of days? I'm usually eating very well on vacation - I eat a lot when I eat, but it's not overindulgence, just what I need to fuel all the exciting things I want to do; I want to sample the local food, and I only eat at meals, I have no desire to continously eat.0

Intermittent fasting was great for me on vacation. Skipped breakfast and mindless eating, and instead focused on eating one great meal each night with friends at a restaurant. Didn't feel restricted because I was still eating the calories I needed, and got to look forward to enjoying the local treats.
There is also something to be said for giving yourself permission to eat at maintenance during vacation.0 -

When I was on vacation at an all you can eat and drink resort I ate whatever I wanted.. BUT I tried small bites first and decided if I REALLY wanted it each time. I'm a volume eater, so I have to be careful against tucking into massive plates of pasta that aren't even that good but are a lot of food. I also hit the gym a few times. Not a ton, but enough that I felt better indulging throughout the day.0

This is really helpful, thank you. I won't have a gym available where I'm staying but if I can walk up and down the beach a couple of times a day, I will probably feel like I've accomplished something. Plus I just found out we'll have a stove in our unit so I can prepare my own food instead of eating boardwalk dining

Thank you! This is a helpful tip. I will try to focus on just one great meal out a day and prepare food for the rest of the meals. I don't want to eat out just to eat out, if that makes sense. And I will try to stress less about my calorie goal

My big concern is getting into that "vacation" mentality and then bringing it back home with me... But I do see your point!
