Sugar free November

We all have our vices and mine is sugar. After a ridiculously sweet October, I'm taking a stand. In the long term, I'd like to develop a healthy relationship with sugar, but that isn't something I'm capable of right now. I am a very disciplined person when I have a specific goal though, so that's whay I'm giving myself.

The challenge:
1. Stay within my sugar goal every day in November
2. No added sugar! That means no sugar in my hot cereal, no more bars, and absolutely no candy, pie, ice cream, pancakes, muffins, sweets of any kind.

Share your sugar goal with what you got for the day, and how your sugar free diet is making you feel. It's just 30 days. We can do it!

    Had candy this morning which is what inspired my challenge, so I'm still counting it a win. Emotions were running high and had a stomach ache today, but that could have been the breakfast candy. All the more reason to stick to my goal.

    Had a hard time getting to sleep last night, but felt good today. My hungry feelings didn't have that "out of control" aspect I'm used to.

    A question about no added sugar, since milk, yogurt, spaghetti sauce, etc are all products with added sugar, shouldn't those be included? Also since the sugar goal is not really meticulous at all.. and fruit is also included in the sugar goal on MFP, to be under this goal, would you have to not eat fruit for a month?

    Plain yoghurt and milk doesn't have added sugar? My sugar intake is around the goal, with only a tiny amount from added sugar and I include fruit..."Added sugar free", and sticking to your sugar goal is definitely doable OP

    Sugar is a component of most foods. I'm not sure what you mean about the sugar goal not being meticulous. Maybe your thinking of some other word? My assumption is that MFP generates nutrient goals like sugar and sodium based on macros and overall calorie goals. If that is true, it's a reasonable goal to set for myself. I'm seeking balance.

    I'm not going to list every single food with added sugar I'm not eating, that's ridiculous. I'm am not eliminating fruits or dairy or anything else with a naturally occurring sugar content. I home cook practically everything I eat and am eliminating prepackaged snacks like bars, so not adding sugar should be pretty straightforward.

    Please, feel free to edit the goals of the challenge for yourself as needed to be successful. Just state what you're doing and hold yourself accountable by posting.

    I'm assuming it was the drastic decrease in sugar that caused the emotional aspect? LOL! Sugar addiction is a real thing; good for you!
