Is it me or is MFP just bad at math?

Yesterday according to MFP I had a net deficit of 1,200kCal.

(1,200kCal * 7 days/week)*5weeks = 42,000kCal for 5 weeks

(42,000kCal/week )/3,500 kCal per pounds of weight = 12lbs in 5 weeks (roughly)

MFP just told me that if I kept having days like yesterday I would lose 19lbs in 5wks.

FTR 12lbs=/=19lbs

How in the world did they come up with an additional 7lbs of weight loss???

How did you come up with that 1200 deficit? Were you 1200 cal under your goal? Unless you set your calories to maintenance your goal should already include a deficit.

The 5 weeks projection claims you would lose 19lbs in 5 weeks.

(19*3500)/5 = 1900kcals below maintenance (per day if every day was like yesterday).

Not sure how you come up with 1200 as a deficit?

Hmmm that's weird... your math seems to be the correct one. Send them a message?
