I totally get your point. One of my exes loved flowers and once I bought her a potted lilly flower as a surprise. She was disappointed because she would have preferred a bouquet. I was a bit confused by her reaction. A potted living plant makes so much more sense to me.

Agreed! I would much prefer a potted living flower. Bouquets die, but pot plants live and give more flowers. Bulbs especially are awesome. I understand your confusion
