I have not heard of Body by VI but I have heard of slim fast.
Personally I would recommend keeping it as simple as possible. the most omportnt thing I have learned since joining MFP is that it's all maths, it's simple.
Once you have entered all your details into MFP it will tell you exactly how many calories per day you need to consume in order to loose weight. The beauty is in the simplicity of that. you can eat whatever you want so long as it fits and you can add exercise in order to be able to eat more!
If you want to get your calories from slim fast then that's fine although IMO its an expensive and not well balanced approach.
I lost almost 4 stone originally with slimming world and then when the losses stopped I've moved to MFP and I wish i had found it sooner. It fits into family life much better than any other plan. I also train 4 days a week. The cardio I track with a heart rate monitor and I eat back about 75% of the calories back. my strength training I do not count as calories burned.
Good luck!0 -
4 stone is an amazeing achievment karen, simplicity is defo what i need right now,im only doing the shakes for a kickstart as i really struggle with portion sizes, eat the right things just lots of it,this site is now my only hope in suceeding along with tons of willpower,im determined this time round, good luck on the rest of your journey hun xx0

Why not just eat at a deficit?1

eat at deficit, weigh everything and eat protein rich foods to try and help make you feel fuller. its the only thing that really works, a lot of the other things, like shakes or pills etc might work short term, but guess what happens when you stop? It all goes back on.1

A friend used to sell it, and tried to get me to buy some. It's crazy expensive (here anyway) and I like to chew my food, so I wasn't interested.0

It's another MLM company. I had a friend that sold it for a time and finally stopped (hallelujah). Yes, I actually bought a couple of bags. It really is nothing special.
I'd also recommend just eating at a deficit and not wasting your money on this.0 -
Product is substandard, but expensive. ANY PROGRAM that has a calorie deficit works. Follow the program and you'll get results. I'd rather do the ones that are FREE. Welcome to MFP.

I just purchased a bag of vi-shape shake mix, after months of not using. Has the formula changed, does anyone know? I only drink for breakfast, and have been for about 4 yrs now. It didn't taste the same, I was wondering if anyone noticed if it was different0

This is a 2.5 year old thread, I expect the one person that tried it is no longer checking this. Maybe get in touch with the company to ask them if the formula has changed?
Have to ask though, why have you been having an overpriced Slim-fast shake every morning for four years?2 -
I have a bag left over from ages ago when i failed. Its yummy but not worth it. Seriously dont waste your money just eat food at your set calories. The only reason i use it at all is to not waste it. Honestly at this point id prefer using more food vs adding shake powder as a sweetner but i feel the need to use it up lol. 1000000000% would not work as a meal replacement like they claim, A quick search will show you people are adding it to fruit smoothies and bulking it up to make it into a meal because its not satisfying. At that point the powder is exactly 0% to blame for if the shake works for you. Dont bother.1
