Hello. This is Pat here. I am now going to try to lose weight over the winter months. Camping is hard on a diet. Even now I have donuts sitting on the counter from our weekend of closing up the RV for winter. I like all that, but I do eat in moderation. That is a good thing.
So any tips you want to share. I am ready to listen.
I was going to WW online but feel I can try this My Fitness Pal first. I just have to say NO to bad food.

You've opened a can of worms by saying "bad food," prepare to be jumped on by the crowd.
MFP is probably a good alternative to Weight Watchers seeing as it's free. I hope it works well for you. Lot of camping to do in the spring.0 -
Having done both (ww many years ago, prior to the web!) I can say that WW is best for people who find in-person meetings helpful-- and I think they can be very helpful for lots of people. MFP is just a convenient way to track your food and exercise. If you can find one or more friends who want to join you in dieting for a few months, you can link up and encourage one another. That's even better in my experience. Sometimes you can join a fitness support group at a local Y and find like-minded folks there. Best of luck!
PS Donuts are diet kryptonite!0 -
I actually lose the most weight in the winter! I know a lot of people gain during the holidays, but not me! MyFitnessPal doesn't stigmatize certain foods. It's about counting all calories. 100 cals of broccoli and 100 cals of twinkies are the same in terms of hitting your calorie goals (although you know which one of those will fill you up more!). Good luck and know that there's no BAD food. Everything in moderation unless you plan on never ever eating a donut again.0

Thank you everyone. You are right. Food in moderation is the key. The more you ignore a food the more you want it. Thanks for advice.0
