Calorie Packed Snacks

Options
Hey everyone! I'm a breastfeeding mom of a 10 month old and she has recently been having an issue with losing weight (3 oz from 6-9 months, fell off her growth curve). She's a typical baby that tends to throw food more than eat it so I'm doing a mixture of finger foods and purees but I know most of her nutrition should be from my breastmilk. I seen a nutritionist yesterday and she told me I should really be eating around 2200 calories. DEFINITELY not hitting that (probably why I seen a decrease in breastmilk production), so I'm looking for some calorie packed snack ideas. I have Perfect Fit Vanilla Protein Powder so I plan on doing some shakes with that, but would love other ideas. I don't like mushrooms or fish, but everything else is fair game. Quick and easy is a plus. Thank you in advance!

One of my favorite snacks while breastfeeding was an apple, cut in half, smeared w peanut butter, and dipped in rolled oats and raisins.

Someone here suggested a sort of cookie made from peanut butter mashed w oats, and maple syrup. I form it into a patty and put it in the fridge, then I cut it into chunks.

Coconut cream chia pudding is good, and you can make it in a mason jar and grab a few spoonful now and then. You can also shake up some chia seeds w whatever iced tea, or juice you like

A quesadilla, fried, and smear w mashed avocado. Or simple bean and cheese burritos from canned refried beans. I make about three from a can, and have them ready on a plate in the fridge, so that my son can grab them.

Lactation cookies? (never had a child, never eaten them, never made them... Just know people who have! Thought they might help increase calories and milk supply?)

Okay...I do not mean to derail, but I definitely just read the part as "never had a child, never eaten them"...annnnnnnnd yes, in my head concocted something about eating children.

My sister was a big fan of ice cream when she was breastfeeding twins. Oatmeal is supposed to be good for your supply, so there were also a lot of oatmeal cookies consumed during that time. I agree that Greek yogurt can be great and quick.

Is that a pea protein powder? You should mention if you are a vegan. I was going to suggest calcium rich foods such as greek yogurt topped with blueberries or cheese sticks and whole wheat crackers. Peanut butter or almond butter sandwich?

Not vegan - she talks about not liking fish and everything else being fair game.

Peanut butter is a good option. Also nuts, or trail mix type foods to snack on throughout the day. Cheese can add in some calories too.

My son had trouble gaining weight as a baby (was completely off the weight chart) and it can be really stressful. I went to a lactation specialist who had me add a little bit of butter to the things he ate and he started gaining. If baby's lack of weight gain is stressing you out, this could be something to try.
You've gotten some good advice on high calorie snack foods. Try to have a snack and some water whenever you sit down to breastfeed (if baby lets you).
