Ive just synced my garmin fenix 3. Its added my exercise calories for the day at 550. My step count is 2990 so so many calories seems too high. I've done a 15 mile bike ride. The watch is saying that alone cost my body 954 calories. So why am i getting this midway of calories which doesn't seem to be either walking or cycling calories?? I was expecting 1000+??

I want food

When you synced your Garmin, MFP read the total calories burned up to that point (not just your exercise calories) and estimated that if you remain that active for the remainder of the day, you will burn an additional 550 calories above maintenance. Be warned that if it's fairly early in the day for you this number will change as you sync it again...move more than MFP expects, the adjustment will increase. Move less, it will decrease.

Thanks for the reply. I have my settings as not very active so that it doesn't over estimate and all exersize should be added on? My daily calories are 1600. I don't understand from you description why ive only got 500 more calories as now 2-3 hours later it hasn't changed as you suggested. (I have not done anymore exersize) but that throws the theory of balance/guesting the rest of my days activity??

You might want to check in with the Garmin forums. I've never had issues with calories syncing (I did have an issue with actual activity/exercise showing yesterday in MFP but the calories were there so not fussed) and I'm on my third device. Not a Fenix user though. Maybe @NorthCascades can shed light, I know he's a Fenix user and a cyclist.

Curious too. I have MFP set to "not very active" so my Garmin Fenix can measure calorie expenditure for my everyday activities then sync with MFP.

It's now noon and my "active" calories on the Garmin still dont show on MFP and I just synced.

When I exercise and track it via Garmin, only THEN does MFP adjust calories.

    I'm getting hungry!

I recently bought the 5X. Love it. But i don't synch it to MFP. I manually enter exercise activities. For me that is swimming. MFP calculator is more conservative.
My 5X says I burn 3000 in yesterday's 10km swim. But i use the 2200 calculated by MFP.
