I just started recording my meals and snacks a couple of days ago. I Like that this site tallys everything you eat and drink...I am looking to lose approx. 30lbs...the last 30 of 80lbs. I lost 50 lbs since 2006 and cant seem to break 150. I Have plateaued and am looking for ideas, suggestions and help. This site seems great! Thanks for reading, take care and good luck!

Congratulations on your prior success and I think you'll find that this site, and community, will help you get to the end of your crusade.
You didn't mention if you exercise or not. If you don't you probably should and when you enter that information here in MFP it will give you bonus calories for working out. My suggestion is to only eat the calories you originally signed up for and not to your bonus level unless you find yourself very hungry and then eat only fruits and veggies to stay under the max allowed (based on exercise) calories.
The practical fact is that if you work off calories and you don't replace them then you will start to lose weight again.
Good Luck!0 -
Congrats....seems like you're off to a great start! Best of luck in reaching your goal!0

Hi rheston,
I appreciate your advice...but what is the bonus level for calories? I do exercise, but have had to cut back severely due to lower back problems. I have new exercises given to me by my physical therapist, but they are not very strenuous. I cant seem to stay below (or at) my caloric intake of 1200 calories. I always go over a little....any tips? Also, I Have read that if you dont eat enough calories, that you send your body into starvation mode and it will retain fat as a survival mechanism. Do you or anyone else know how to figure whatthatthreshold is (if it is indeed true). Thanks. Could you please also tell me how to add friends? Thanks again!:happy:0 -
