What are a few of your healthy ESSENTIAL/MUST HAVE foods when it comes to grocery shopping?
Trying to get ideas and be more creative with what I eat.

    My usual shopping list:

    Produce:
    spinach
    romaine
    cucumber
    tomato
    sweet potato
    bananas
    apples
    melon when in season
    grapes when in season
    carrots

    Meat:
    chicken
    turkey
    ribs
    pork chops
    stew beef

    Dairy:
    milk
    laughing cow cheese wedges
    yogurt

    Seafood:
    tilapia
    shrimp

    whole wheat bread

I typically buy enough produce for 1/2 a week and go back midweek and get more. It usually goes bad before the end of the week but it may not be convenient for some. I have my stores literally 2 streets away.

Tuna, I like to put it on a salad and then put a little Maries blue cheese yogurt dressing. Yo crunch yogurt, celery and fat free cream cheese, watermelon, and I dont think they are all that healthy but I like newton berry crisps.

Not to repeat many of the other posts, but we get lots of fruits and veggies. Fresh or frozen veg especially.
Mushrooms are great, so many things to do with them.
And besides salads get cole slaw! I make a great wrap with a large tortilla, choice of meat (tuna or shredded smoked pork butt are great for this) pile on a bunch of slaw and add dressing of choice. Very filling!

Another thing that really helps, cook up your meats and freeze if you have a grill/smoker. We weigh and date the packages and then it is easy to whip something up. Reheated smoked pork or chicken tastes like it just came off the grill! And having it as easy access helps the temptation of eating something quick that is full of calories.

    Good luck!
