Just being aware made a huge difference. Thank you MFP

Yes I agree. The first week I just tracked everything without making any changes. I was horrified by how many calories I was eating.
Being aware of calorie content and portion size is the most important first step in my opinion.

Like you said, simply being aware made a huge difference for me! I couldn't bear to stick with normal diets, too restrictive and didn't make logical sense. CICO makes it a numbers game and that works for me. Also, like @manderson27 mentioned, I didn't log my food the way I ate before MFP but I went back one day and logged a "normal" day for me before I was aware and, holy cow, I was HORRRIFIED!0

I found the same thing. I was going back for seconds and not really needing to.
Now I eat better and I'm rarely hungry.0 -
I should try that.0

I like that it makes you very aware of how much you eat, so glad I found this app, it has helped me a lot0

I know what you mean. Especially when you erroneously think "I will just exercise more to counter the excessive eating only to realise it will require around 2km of running to burn off a banana.1
