edited September 2024 in Introduce Yourself
Hi everyone, I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself. I'll be 31 next week and I have four young children and I'm also a full time student, which keep me busy and also give me plenty of excuses of why I can't find time to exercise and why I just grab food wherever is available, mainly fast food. I'm taking a medication that has recently made me gain back the weight I had just lost, so it's very frustrating as I'm sure all of you know. One last thing, I'm also a smoker and would like to quit by September, so if anyone has any advice on how to quit, but also limit the weight gain after quitting, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks in advance to everyone:)

Welcome to MFP. I'm surprised those 4 children aren't exercise enough. :)

    Welcome! =)

When I quit 3 years ago I used Champix for about 6 weeks, Had no cravings and it got me past the binging stage which is usually the first 3 or so weeks for me. I highly recommend it, with my health care it cost me about 8 bucks a week up here in Canada to be on it. Not bad considering a pack of smokes is $13 =)

Wed 08/03/11 09:46 PMI was a smoker 12 years ago, went to hospital with Heart trouble. The doctor stood at the end of the bed and said"smoke one more cigarette and it will kill you". Never had one since. The nurse came in told me to buy a jar of cinnamon sticks every time I wanted a cigarette, I used a cinnamon stick. It worked for me. Try it and good luck. By the:happy: way, you can get a real big jar at Costco around the holidays.
  • Thanks for all the advice:)
