When Dadbod is the goal

I have contributed regularly to several types of discussion forums over the years. Never to a fitness blog however.

I'm a married dad of 1, soon to be 2. I've signed on to myfitnesspal to help track my nutrition as I work my way through p90x (not for the first time). Hello to all!

I plan to start blogging a bit soon. Not necessarily with the assumption that anyone will read, but more as a way to catalog and hash out my thoughts on my fitness journey.

A quick idea of where I'm coming from. In my youth I was a stick figure. I weighted 150 lb my freshman year of college. I was always heavily into sports, but never touched weights. I got into the gym for the first time in college and bulked up quite a bit. As I got older however, I stopped working out and kept eating whatever I wanted. My metabolism slowed and eventually I found myself hanging out in the 190's. I've been through p90x completely one time and had several other partial attempts. Two weeks ago I weighed in at 180. That was Day 1. I haven't missed a day since and the results are encouraging. Myfitnesspal has been a big help as my nutrition has always been what's held me back.

So, if you want to see how a 37 year old guy with wife and kids finds a way to work his way through P90x and get fit again, I'm your guy! If this sounds like you, perhaps we can help each other with motivation and tips on how to balance because trust me, balance with P90x is HARD!
