I'M 5'8 FEMALE AT 140LBS. MY GOAL AND COMFORTABLE BODY WEIGHT IS 125LBS OR LESS.
(sorry about the caps)

I do 100-200 cals for breakfast, 300-400cals for lunch and 400-500cals for dinner, and 1 or two 100cal snack in between the day, and 30mins-1 hr of workout 3 times a week at least.

WILL I GET TO MY GOAL??? AND WHEN??

xxoxo

It's going to be hard to hit that & it all depends on you.
I would flip that around though and eat your largest meal in the morning and smallest int he evening.
No one can tell you when you will hit your goal. When you are at a good body weight already (which you are) it is more difficult to lose weight, or so I have found.
  • You will get to your weight goal, most definitely, if you stick with it.
And if you follow your diet plan, you should lose about 1 pound a week, sometimes less, sometimes more.
You should reach your goal in about 15 weeks.

You should lose the weight if you are creating a calorie deficit. I have a friend who only needed to lose 15 lbs and it took her three months, so that might be your target time table. In addition, if you have strength training in your routine, that will add to your progress and buffer against plateaus.

    GOOD LUCK!

it doesn't look like you're eating enough..depends on how much you work out and how quickly you're body loses weight..Make sure you are eating at least 1200 quality calories..

Based on your height around 127lbs is the lowest weight of the healthy range. Otherwise you fall into underweight which is not something you should be aiming for...

You will probably get to this weight incredibly slowly as you are already within a healthy weight for your height. If you undereat you probably will not reach this weight. You will need to eat enough to recover and do some strength training so you burn more energy through the day just by being awake.

I would probably start aiming for 1600cal a day for a month and then each month cut back 100cal until you reach 1400 and stay at that level. That is your BMR and it isn't a good idea for health reasons to drop below it. If you do your weight loss in a smart and controlled way it might take 6+ months to get there but you will look athletic as opposed to emaciated
  • I agree, you need to make sure you are eating enough otherwise your body thinks it is starving and it stores food. You are a very healthy weight now. Be careful of cuttng to much. A good key to follow is to take how many calories you burn minus that from how many calories you eat and you need to be above 1200 calories.
  • you need to get the balance of those foods right to lose weight, it's not just down to calories!! make sure you have your carbs/protiens/fats in the correct proportion and you will lose weight, how much you lose and when is down to your life style it's not an exact science, the food we put in our body is though, so I would as I suggest check out your portions of the key groups and adjust where you need to if in fact you do need to.

Of course you can! the question is exactly how. the first step is determination. You need to make sure you are eating the right types of food and doing the right types of exercise. It is not just about the number of calories and the amount of minutes put into exercise. I wrote a blog entry about how to distinguish what type of macronutrients you should use when figuring out your calories (below). I use my fitness pal to figure out my calorie needs but I used my own calculations to focus in on the macronutrients. You need to make sure that you eat the target calories PLUS the amount of calories you consume working out. You can get a heart rate monitor (I have suggestions if you need it) or you can use online calorie calculators to help you determine the amount of calories you burn in exercise. This is very important. A lot of people over exercise without eating enough. You're body will start to store the macronutrients as fat, as if you are starving yourself, if you are not eating enough. Hope this helps! and best of luck ;)

  • Hi everyone! After I had my daughter I was 163lbs!!! I gained way more weight than I should have and I'm 5'6. It's taken me a year to drop the weight and I am now 143lbs. Which I seem to be stuck at. Losing 20 pounds was HARD work lol. but I did it and now that I'm some what comfortable with my body I seem to not be able to lose any more weight. I would like to tone up and be 135 at least, but I would be absolutely thrilled and in the best shape ever if I could get down to 130 :)
