That depends on your weight and I have heard different ratios. For example some say that you should drink your normal 8 glasses of water plus a glass for each 10lbs you want to drop. Regardless, I don't think your 13-20 is too much in the sense that you will drown from it if that is what you were concerned about. The people who have drank too much drank gallons of it!0

You shouldn't drink more than 1 liter of water every hour, especially if you aren't having anything else to eat or drink during that time. Anything less is fine, as long as you don't mind going to the bathroom every 30 minutes.0

not sure if what u're drinking is too much or not, but there is something called water intoxication and hyponatremia. it might be something u would want to ask a physician or perhaps do some research. too much of anything is not good for u.
i really admire ur love for water. i had to learn to like water and have to make myself drink it.

As I understand it, if your kidneys are healthy, and at your age, you can drink 15 liters (about 60 cups) a day before you have problems, as long as you don't drink it all at once. So long as you aren't losing the balance of electrolytes, you'll be ok. Problems are usually seen in infants and people running marathons, but that's because they have electrolyte imbalances.
(I'm not a doctor, and I don't have any special training in nutrition, so please don't just take my word for this)0 -
I don't know how much water is too much, but there is such a thing as water intoxication : http://chemistry.about.com/cs/5/f/blwaterintox.htm Drinking too much water throws your electrolytes and sodium levels out of balance.0

Water is quite the topic here ... some folks have pretty strong feelings about it. So I'll speak only for myself.
I tend to drink a lot of water, too (20 cups today, for instance). I'm no scientist, but here's what I think. If you're eating and not just drinking water, you should be fine. If you're exercising and working up a sweat, you can pretty much drink as much as you want (again -- just my $.02). If you're drinking cup after cup after cup of water in a short timeframe, like an hour or two, that's probably not good; if you space it out through the day, you should be fine. Finally, if you're taking a lot in but not putting a lot out, that's not a good sign. (duh)
I discovered this article yesterday. Pretty sure neither you nor I need to learn to love water (!) ... but there's some other interesting stuff in there.

A doctor once told me I was getting too much water. Why did I see the doctor? Because I was exercising like a maniac, and was worried because every inch of my body was constantly in pain even with ibuprofen and tylenol. I had been drinking gallons of water and only water, and not eating enough. His explanation was I that I was flushing all my electrolytes out of my body, and even though I was drinking enough water, I had no electrolytes...quick fix was a day or two of pedialyte (this tastes like kool-aid with WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY toooooo much sugar...even watered down it was horrid!!!! After this I made sure I was drinking some Gatorade each day, just to maintain...
I wouldn't have even thought of this if I hadn't managed to this this to myself yet again...so again it's back on the gatorade and watch how much water I'm drinking, while I'm sure I will keep drinking 10-15 cups a day, I will cut back from the 15 to 20 or more...
I guess to put this short, if your muscles, joints, bones, and everything else is hurting/killing you try and get more electrolytes in you...
just my 2 cents...0
