I have been obese for twenty years, I am 66 years old, 5 feet 11 inches tall and was weighing in at 265 pounds when I found UA myfitnesspal to log my intake. I have had multiple back surgeries with fusions and a total knee replaced so exercise is very difficult for me. I have lost 40 plus pounds so far (still obese) and I want to use my Samsung 4s android phone to log my steps daily. My wife is also doing this and her Apple 6s automatically tallies her walking steps, I have downloaded a lot of apps but none work well or they drain my battery fast on my phone. Looking for a program that works for you out there that I can use too.

I've had walklogger on my last 2 or 3 androids and like it as it seems accurate. I don't think it is an app that syncs with MFP. Haven't looked for a long time.

Currently I have walklogger but also S-Health on my Samsung which is an S7. The phone is synced to MFP via S-Health and does this (shows steps and calorie burn in mfp) without error 99.9% of the time.

Walklogger and S-Health are both fairly right or fairly wrong in the step counting because they're only a few steps off from each other given a few thousand steps a day.

I'm using Map my walk on my phone- distance seems accurate, not sure about calories burned-seems high. But overall, I'm liking this app better than the inaccurate pedometer I was using. This is one of several apps from Map My Fitness. I like that the app actually creates a map of where you're walking- gives you distance- time- average speed-calories burned.
