Where do you belong?
So was talking with some MFP friends about where they feel they belong...I thought I would love to be on the coast. I feel best there.
But the problem is that they pay in Sunshine and Lillipops and Rainbows up the *kitten*!

Rainbows up the *kitten*! lol...I gave you that....I feel I belong on the west coast in the "I wanna soak up the sun" Sheryl Crow, with some sun block , but not so much sunblock that my nice honey kiss tan will hide0

I belong on the Yorkshire coast, the sea stretching out in front of me in one direction and moors behind me. One of the most beautiful places I've ever been0

I feel like I belong in some beautiful small town on the East Coast. Massachusetts, Connecticut, something like that. Being from the Bay Area, Ca, I want seasons and suburbia and quiet!!0
-
Seasons are overrated LOL.
Well, mid-west seasons are overrated.0 -
I've fallen in love with Wales (debighshire area), countryside is beautiful and it feels remote. But think it rains more and wld need a 4x4 in winter.0
-
I'm right where I belong!! In Maryland northwest of DC... close enough to the beach to be there in a couple of hours, can reach the mountains in a couple of hours, and close enough to culture to get there when I need to!0
-
I belong near the water... I live in Florida, but inland. I would love to go to sleep each night and wake up each morning to the sound of waves outside my window... how nice would that be? The beach is my happy place - a quiet beach, not the touristy ones we have here, lol0
-
Can I have my South Florida beach with the lovely green trees of New England please? Oh and some change of seasons, but light snow..............OH and green grass all year round. And nice people who smile and let you out of the parking lot. And dont put on their 'eventual' right turn signal 3 miles before they turn? Oh and no *****y people like me complaining about all of the above!
I think that is in some fantasy island and I would need drugs to get there.
Honestly, I love it here. When it is too warm here, it is also too warm 'there'. Then when y'all are covered in snow, I am lying on the beach with my toes in the sand. I just have to put up with concrete and traffic inland and people who are too busy to be polite.0 -
After several visits over the years have to say somewhere in the Carolinas.
No more brutal northeast winters that last until May but still some change in seasons too.0 -
on a golf course...............dont mind which one to be fair0
-
I belong right here in New Jersey, Close to the Beach, and the City, and the mountains! i cant live without the beach.
Love it here. Too bad the pay sux, and the good neighborhoods are too expensive, but, that's part of what gives us our great attitude towards life!
Life is what you make of it. Home is where your heart is, embrace it :--)0 -
I belong right where I am. I'm not that far from the beach and not that far from the country side.0

I'm a northeastern girl through and through. The city is starting to wear on me though. After I get my degree, hubby and I will probably move to New Orleans which is the only place in the South I can function.0
-
I'm not entirely sure where I belong. I guess I'm still trying to figure that out....0

I belong in a big city!
I moved to a house in the country 10 years ago and liked it at first. Now I really miss shopping, sidewalks, restaurants, movie theaters, big city library. Most of all I miss the energy of a big city! When I go to Chicago, San Francisco or even Charleston I think, "this is what I want"!
Also after 16 years in North Carolina, I have made exactly one friend and she's moving away! In a big city I might meet more people and have more opportunity to make friends.0 -
I never really felt I belonged anywhere until I went to Shanghai a couple of years back. I'm not really one for big city life but there's just something about that place that made me feel like I was at home.0

I would have to say either the US Virgin Islands, or the Sarasota area....Sarasota is probably more do-able Sarasota gives a nice blend of urban conveniences and still is plenty close to the beaches and nature. We have a lot of water in Citrus county as far as rivers and springs being nearby, but our gulf beaches are blech.
Growing up on Long Island has made being near the water important to me, and living in FL and being able to go to places like Siesta Key and Clearwater beach have spoiled me...and I detest being cold, and am not bothered by the heat most of the time. I am thinking of a day trip to Siesta for Saturday...0 -
I live in the US (about 45 mins from NYC to be exact), but I feel I belong overseas... Either Denmark (lived there as a child and LOVE it there!), the UK, or Australia. Somewhere not too far from the water and not far from city life.0

I belong in the mountains around Glen Coe, I'm not bothered about the bad weather, the midges that bite chunks out of your flesh, I just love the space, tranquility, the fresh air, the mountains, the fresh running streams, the moss on the stones and trees, the people (thank the Lord there aren't that many) the nights around the camp fires, snow on your tent, water in your boots, crackling wood on the fire, food eaten outdoors, squirrels pinching your food, birds waking you up at stupid o'clock, feeling so cold you have to wear thermals to bed:::::: the list is endless0

A big ranch in the middle of nowhere. Although, I'd like it to be in the middle of nowhere in Texas or Wyoming.0

I don't know for sure where I belong, but I know its not here (Pennsylvania). I hate winter and snow but I like the green everywhere. I think, if I could take some of my extended family with me, I'd want to relocate to somewhere in the Southeast... like maybe near the coast of South Carolina.0

I always say I live in the most perfect place in the world....
I live 5 minutes from the beach, 20 minutes from Yale, a little over an hour from New York City, about 3 from Boston, within an hour from me I can be skiing, or hiking awesome trails.
I just don't think it gets much better than this!0 -
I belong where it rains on a regular basis and its not 112 freakin degrees. I always thought Kentucky or Tennessee would be nice. Doesn't get too cold or hot there, right? And its always seems to be lush.
I'm from Georgia and have been to Kentucky several times and don't care for it, Tennessee is a good place0 -
I would just like a change of scenery, I have lived in Georgia my entire life. I love it here but a change would be nice. Somewhere like Canada, I have looked up many places there and read about it and it sounds and looks nice.0

I belong in a small town like where I grew up in nothern MN.
A place where you've known everyone since you started school, where cow tipping is real, entertainment is spending the weekend at the lake cabin, and where you can step out the back door with a rifle and go hunting.
Oddly, I also feel like I belong in Uptown Minneapolis, I love that neighborhood.0 -
Ah, the beach! One of the major things I miss about the east coast! If family were no factor, Id move back out there and live a short driving distance from the water.0
