I currently weight 209 lbs, im 5'4 and i have a rather less active life style due to the face that i'm in school most of the time. It would also be helpful to add that i am an extremely picky eater. I guess whst im looking for is to get advice on how to lose the weight, tips on what to eat, ext. :)

Why do you need to lose 30lb in a month?

From what I have read here it is recommended to aim for somewhere between 0.5 and 2lb a week using a long term sustainable adjustment to your diet. I'm afraid I don't think you will be getting the answers you want here but I do think you will get helpful ones.

Unrealistic. You cannot lose a pound a day. Why the ridiculous time frame, anyway?

Did you input your stats here and get a daily calorie goal? That's where to start.

    Not going to happen sorry.

Set MFP to a realistic weight loss rate (for you that would be 1-1.5 lbs per week), eat the number of calories MFP gives you, plus at least half of what you earn through deliberate exercise. You may have an initial bigger loss the first couple of weeks through dropping some water weight, but don't expect to continue losing at that rate.

I have the same stats as you and the same chances of losing 30lbs in a month - absolutely NADA. It's a completely unrealistic and unsustainable goal.

Put your correct stats into MFP, choose your weekly goal and get a calorie goal. I suppose you could try to lose 2 lbs per week, though that may be too aggressive. Log your food accurately and consistently every day.

Unless you cut off a limb, you are not going to lose 30 lbs in a month. That isn't to be discouraging, it's just not physically possible. Realistic expectations are important.

You can eat whatever you want, but most people find it helpful to build meals around lean protein and a veggie, then fill in other stuff you like, avoid overly-processed foods as they are often not filling, and for the same reason avoid beverages with calories. A food scale will be an advantage. Increasing activity by something as simple as walking more will also help.

Please take care of yourself, and good luck!

Yep that works. OP you may have been listening to bad advice on how to lose weight or over exaggeration of how weight is lost. If you lost even 4lbs a week, that's only 16lbs in a month. So basically, just follow the MFP guide of eating the calories you have available to lose 2lbs a week.

    - lose weight by eating at a deficit. Working out not necessary but it will help (plus your body will thank you for it)
    - Eat what you like within your limits. Don't be scared to try new foods though

Multiple limbs will probably be required

OP, this isn't going to happen, sorry.

I think its not possible to lose 30lbs in a healthy way. A healthier weight loss would be about 0.5-2lbs a week as mention before. However, if you were strict I think you would be able to lose more weight the first month only because you will lose water weight. I have lost up to 15lbs before in a month but I was dedicated and strict ( working out everyday and not eating anything with sugar, bread, or fast food) but because of this I fell of the wagon and gained it later on.

First off quick weight loss is setting yourself up to gain it back. Slow and steady is the way to go, it took me 4 months to loose 30lbs and another 4 months to loose the final 15lbs and have been maintaining since April of 2016. I am afraid you might be looking at weight loss as a diet, think of it as a lifestyle change to the healthier you. I know you said you are less than active, I would try to schedule in some time to do what ever exercise you like to do, whether it be walking, biking, jazzercise what ever you enjoy will keep you motivated as the weight will start to melt away. Just know you got this and you can do this. Stay the Course was my moto through it all!!

Look at it this way. If you’re allocated 1600 Cal a day to maintain your current weight (you can put that into mfp and see what they allocate), to lose a pound you need to eat 3500 Cal less than 1600 (a pound is 3500 Cal). For 30 days. How can you do that and stay alive, much less healthy?

Just aim for a pound a week weight loss and in 30 weeks you’ll have healthier eating habits and have lost weight, however much it is. It’s hard enough for many of us to eat 3500 calories below our maintenance level each week as it is.
