My favorite days were the days when we could play the Oregon Trail on the computers (7th and 8th grade for me. In elementary school I loved the days in gym class when the parachute looking thing came out and we all grabbed a corner and went under it. Never knew what it was called, but we all had so much fun with it.

True, Oregon trail was the highlight of my day in like 5th-6th grade!

I confess that I downloaded it within the past year on my 10 year old's tablet. I died nearly instantly. Carried off by a large bird. Didn't know large birds were such a danger on the Oregon Trail.

I remember using a typewriter in school (omg so painful for my little kid hands), and having a rotary phone. Yep. We may have been behind the times.

Yes, we still have one old relative with a rotary phone, and my kids look at it like "what the ..... is that?"

I remember being paid each month with cash $$ for my work, standing in line at the bank to deposit cash, standing in line again to withdraw cash to pay bills and buy goods with actual cash. No ATM, no Debit Card, No Credit Card, No telephone banking, No online banking.

Oh and we had this "cable box" that had a slider. I hit my sister on the head with it when we were arguing about channels.

What is a cable box that is a slider?

Remember tv had big, clunking channel changers. My grandmother got a remote for hers, it just moved the rotary dial. But we were all amazed!

And my grandfather got cable just before MTV came out. The remote had a long telephone cord attached so you couldn't go far. But I was entranced by MTV. I'd sit and watch for hours.

I remember before the holiday breaks we would get McDonald's coupons and free skate rental coupons for the local roller skating rink. We used to do the "hokie pokie" at the skating rink.

Does Pizza Hut still give out free Personal Pan Pizzas for honor roll?

I got Personal Pan Pizzas from Pizza Hut for the "Book It". The skating rink was the place to be on Friday nights and weekends. I dreaded couple skating though.

My dad always called the TV remote 'the clicker'.

I also remember when most TV stations went off the air for the night and it'd play a video of the US flag and then go to snow or colored bars pattern across the screen.

My grandfather called the remote the "flipper". Fruity Pebbles was my favorite cereal, mostly because it turned the milk colors.

I don't recall having a remote for the cable box. But, we only had cable for a few months. Was an expense my parents felt wasn't worth it. We did have a top loading Panasonic VHS system with a cabled remote. Otherwise, I was the remote for my parents. :p

You can still go! I have to say, if you haven't been in a long time...the first 30 seconds is terrifying.
