Hi. I am a 68 year old male and concerned my Iron intake is very low. Seems I should consume 8mg a day. I am amazed the meat I eat contains (243g of eye fillet steak) no Iron. I looked at idea of liver but there are too many negatives in taking this especially ug levels. AND of course no iron in fresh fish. Can anyone advise please

As others have said - MFP is completely unreliable for vitamin and micronutrient tracking. Steak has Iron - if MFP says it doesn't, then it's simply missing data.

OP you can create your own entries or edit the incomplete ones.

Some users care only about calories and don't bother adding in the macros/micros. Then there are others where you just think wtf label are you reading!!!!??? Where absolutely nothing from start to finish even resembles the correct numbers :weary:

In my opinion the database is a big trash can, the nutritional info is a disaster, or you are searching for a needle in a haystack. A better way is to create your own foods, scan the barcode or in case of for example veggies, search online for the nutrition info. Eventually your own database will be pretty accurate. Or follow the advise of Christina_72

For myself, I have a foodscale, and weight out my foods during the day, so I have an insight of the intake I have during the day, and for the amuzement of other family members or guests.

I do weigh everything it's just when I have entered steak the Iron column shows zero for Iron so MFP is not accurate,
I have a years free Premium membership which I certainly won't renew on this basis-cheers

Was it an early Christmas present from Mrs. Claus? And you might want to have a Snickers bar, because you seem a little hangry, and you're just not yourself when you're hangry, Santa.
