I️ was just wondering what is you guys take on the “body builder diet” with basic protein, carbs, and fats. Thank you

I love chicken, broccoli and rice.. but I eat lots of other stuff too. Definitely not necessary to limit your food choices like that to reach your goals. I prefer being flexible, it keeps me happy and consistent

A way more varied diet than that made me regain, over and over, so no thanks, I'll eat anything in moderation now.

Not for me. I could not eat broccoli, chicken and rice or even sweet potatoes everyday. I need variety in my diet.

Add some teriyaki sauce, or maybe some garlic, red pepper, and parmesan and it'll be okay.

Otherwise on a regular basis can be very boring.

I could eat chicken and rice every day of my life, with teriyaki sauce. Soooo delicious

I have followed a very typical and boring "bodybuilder diet" for a few years now and have found it to be very effective to help me achieve my physique goals. The beauty of this type of diet is in the efficiency and simplicity of it; however, none of that is relevant if you can't stay consistent with it. If you're someone who is happy to eat nearly the same thing most days, you'll probably find it to be fine but if you need a lot of variation it's not going to be functional for you.

    Well there's a difference here.

Protein, carbs and fats are macros and all food contains one, two or all of those macros. So you can meet your macro goals in whatever way you fancy. And yes, chicken, broccoli and rice would cover at least a good chunk of those macros (depending on meat you could be low on fats). So you can meet your goals without the typical so called bodybuilder diet.

If that's all that's in the diet, it seems lacking in nutrition.

I actually love chicken, broccoli and rice but there needs to be something cheesy in it!

But those three foods make me really happy.

Not if they're my ONLY foods, though! Bleh.

I keep reading this as "Children, broccoli and rice" and thinking "Good luck with that..."

OP, if you're planning on eating only the chicken, broccoli and rice in your title, I agree with everyone it's a bad idea nutrition-wise and ridiculously restrictive. If you're actually planning on eating a diet focused on "basic" (less processed?) foods from each of the macros like you mentioned in your first post, I say go for it. It sounds healthy and sustainable.

I guess I’m an outlier. I really like repetition with my meals 5-6 days out of the week. I love the predictability of it.

I like repetition as well, as long as I like the food I'm happy to eat it over and over again. I would want to add a few more vegetables to this menu though.

I like repetition, and don't mind eating the same meals during the week..sometimes even for weeks at a time. But, I could never stick to chicken, broccoli, rice. That's not repetitive, that's as boring as bat poop, and completely unnecessary.

You'll need more fats if you're just focused on Chicken, Broccoli and Rice for your meals. Nuts for a snack or something

I could repeat on Hershey bars or just still a tiny bit frozen Pepperidge Farm layer cakes!

Seriously, like a hundred repetitions. On Day 101 I might finally get sick.

For almost a year now I've been eating a protein bar for breakfast every day. I used to cycle through repeats of various foods for several months at a time (yogurt, oatmeal, cold cereal) until I got sick of them, but so far I seem to have found my magic morning food. :)

I like a lot of repetition for breakfast and lunch, but still not NO variety. For lunch I tend to eat the same thing several days in a row or leftovers or cycle through the same meals. For breakfast I might have the same thing for a week or two without changing it up, but still it's not identical -- my most common breakfast is a 2 egg omelet with greens (but spinach or kale or swiss chard, I switch around), maybe feta/maybe not, maybe mushrooms/maybe not, some other kind of vegetable (broccoli or zucchini or asparagus, say), maybe some onion or similar (shallot, leek). I can't imagine ALWAYS eating the exact same thing.

Today I had turkey and roasted potatoes and broccoli for dinner (leftovers plus the broccoli which I had on hand). It amused me, since I thought I guess this wouldn't fit on the chicken, rice, broccoli diet. But then I had pineapple, so never mind! ;-)

I actually think being so monotonous in one's diet isn't nutritionally ideal -- broccoli is great, but eating a wide diversity of vegetables seems better to me. But I'm sure it's fine if that's what you want to do and all.
