Tips on how to request friends

I would like to offer a couple of suggestions when you send people friend requests. Read their profile first. Write a short note that mentions why you want to friend them (like you read a certain post of theirs) and share a couple brief things about how much you want to lose, etc. It's not really a friendship if you just randomly tag people and want to watch them without communicating.

I agree with your comment and I would like to add that, if a member has a private profile then you (general you) don't know anything about him or her. So please don't send a friend request just based in what ever that person posted in the forums. If in doubt, just ask first.1
