So I have heard all great things about this program and while I am not a fan of at home work out it is time I try and do something new and different because I been stuck for a long time.

I decided to do p90 and p90x and to do the 90 days...Problem is I have no clue on how it works, what to expect, etc. I did a search and found way too much info and post on it so decided to just put it out there and see what others have to say.

I got the dvds from a friend. I plan to work out before going to work in the morning. How much time should I allot for it? Any equipments I need pre-hand? Tips, Suggestions, Diets, Pros, Cons. I want it all...

Please and thank you so much in advance

You will need: resistance bands, or weights, maybe a pull up bar, good shoes, a HR monitor, a yoga mat. As for time you can work out for up to 90 minutes on Yoga day, but 80 minutes on resistance days, and 60 minutes on cardio days.

I am sure many others will add or take to this.

Get the fitness guide for P90X from your friend it has everything you need to know.

Hello!! I just completed my first week of P90X! They recommend you get a pull up bar for your door frame, but you can always do bent over rows with weights instead for your back.

I recommend getting either light and medium resistant bands or weights varying from 5-12 pounds. You do not need weights for the workouts, but it definitely helps.

After my first week, all of my muscles were sore at some point! I do the LEAN Schedule, which is more cardio than weights. I recommend that if you are a cardio girl, to supplement more cardio with the workouts. The longest DVD is the Yoga X, 90 minutes. For all the others play it safe and give yourself at least an hour in the morning. That's what I do, too!

For diet, I just try to follow MFP suggestions, but I make sure to eat about 100 grams of protein.

I have absolutely loved it so far! I can tell it is working my body!! Good luck and feel free to add me if you want to talk about it more!!
  • This is actually a really great program! I have done it but I have a hard time staying motivated a lone. So I never make it past the first two weeks. After two weeks I skip days here and there lol. So I think this would be excellent if you can keep your self motivated. At beachbody.com they have a lot of coaches that are supposed to help with that. i never tried them out but it might be worth a shot. =) I will have to start doing my P90X again once school starts and i wont have time for the gym....but Good luck!!

    Perfectly said.

Adding only to speak to the nature of the workout. High intensity workouts; cardio, plyo, core, yoga and strength training. Each video is a different type. You say you have the dvds, which in my opinion is enough. Just do them and you will see a difference. However, without the books/packet you won’t have their plan, which sort of tells you when to do what video and how to progress through the videos.
