Has anyone just eat a portion of Kimchi when wanting to eat a snack? Or should I eat it with a side of something?

I often eat just plain kimchi, whether you "should" is just up to whether or not you like it that way.

    I do, but I've been told it's weird. (I don't care.)

I don't see any reason you should eat anything with it if you don't want to.

Of course you can eat it alone but, like sauerkraut, it's really designed to be eaten w/something else.

It's often used as a flavoring ingredient in entrees and, even when served alone as ban chan, it served w/the main course.

However, if you are going to eat it alone, do yourself a favor and at least have a beer w/it too. ;)

My sister eats it alone all the time! Right out of the jar!

Yup. I eat it right out of the jar. I treat it like pickles.

That’s the only way I eat it! Same with sauerkraut :)

I eat it on its own, same with saurkraut. Yum.

Not sure I've ever eaten it as a snack but no reason why not. I chop it up and use it on stir fries or scrambles or one pan whatevers. Cabbage kind though, I like radish and daikon but not a fan of radish kimchi for some reason.
