“Timbits” sounds like some guy named Tim’s private parts. Are Timbits hairy and salty?

Sweet and savory is all the rage these days. Yay! I’ve never tasted Tim’s bits.

    Désolée. Trop de vin.

Cheese and gravy don't go together. It sounds bad. Like Rice Rice and Gravy.

I had no idea that Tim Hortons was such a big thing in Canada. They are fairly new around my home

We used to have a few different donut shops, now its hard to find one that isn't Tim Hortons and if you do they are kinda grungy and gross looking, you wouldn't want to drink or eat there.

Not that I like Tim Hortons...I prefer Starbucks and I don't even drink coffee.

Rumour has it Tim's does something to the coffee to make it extra addictive...

I've never heard of Tim Hortons before. At least until I people on the forums started talking about it.

Tim Horton's is Dunkin Donut's identical Canadian twin

I did not know how patriotic I felt until I read this thread and saw people insulting timbits AND poutine.

Does the gravy have to be brown with poutine? Can it be white gravy?

I will take bite-sized fried-dough confections where ever and when ever I can get them.

I mean don't get me wrong, white gravy has its place, but that place is no where near poutine.

It's funny because just this summer I had a nice conversation with a gentlemen from Quebec who gave a hilarious account of how terrible other provinces poutine is.

Edit to add: I had a hard time arguing with him because the poutine I had in the Quebec airport was better than pretty much any poutine I've had anywhere else, and I've had a lot of good poutine.

    Timbits

And does American Tim Hortons sell timbits or 'donut holes'?

They are still TimBits here in the US

Do you want to start a war with Canada, because that's how you start a war with Canada :D

We've said nothing but nice things about poutine!

Mmm poutine and timbits for dessert :D

Can someone please tell me what the *kitten* are poutine?

Poutine is french fries with gravy and melted cheese or cheese curds.

Why not say French fries with gravy?

Because then that's french fries and gravy. You need the cheese.

    Silly American.

Silly Americans? We have Poutine here! They opened a nice Poutine restaurant downtown a couple years ago that is very good.

Okay what about sausage gravy? Would you consider using that in poutine?

Ok but where are the cheese curds? You can't call it poutine without cheese curds.

And I dunno about that sausage gravy, why fix what isn't broken? Just sprinkle some bacon bits and onions on top. Or some dressing, now that's a poutine I can get behind. But changing a core ingredient... That's just dancing with disaster.

Take that up with Desi Fiesta, they're the heathens leaving off the cheese curds and calling white gravy Bechamel Sauce.

You don't need bacon bits though if you gravy has sausage already built in.
