I have been on a low carb diet for 35 days (no exercise) and as of last Friday I have lost a total of 8 lbs which I don't think is enough for people to notice; however I have had several people tell me that they can tell that I have lost weight and when I say "thanks 8 lbs so far" they all say it looks like more. I don't know if maybe I am losing inches or they are just trying to be nice LOL! I guess my question is: If I start doing my measurements, how often should I check them?

Thanks!
Ruby

I take measurements once a month.

I weigh in once a week.

I check them every week, same time as I weigh in. They don't necessarily change as often as my weight, but it keeps it all consistant for me.

    Hi there,
I just started measuring and I was thinking of checking once a week. I already do a Monday weigh in..so i'm planning on adding the measuring to my Monday morning ritual.

It may be premature to measure once a week but I don't see the harm in keeping a close eye on any improvements/changes.
    Hope this helps!

    Good luck!!!!

I take mine every week and keep them in an excel file. Then I run a total at the end of the month. Last two months 35 inches :) And I have lost ZERO pounds :( Congrats on the eight
  • i check mine measuremnts and weight, both on my weekly check in. I normally see .5 to 1 in loss each week but one week i had lost 4 in all together so it all varies on where your losing it. Sometimes you dont even notice youve lost inches, but other people will. espically if your short and over weight.

When some one is on low carb diet and lifting weights it some times appears that they are gaining weight because they are building muscle and muscle weighs more than fat, but at the same time they will appear slimmer. If you are not exercising and you are losing weight I believe that you would be burning fat cells taking inches off your arms legs abdomen ect.

Congratulations on your weight loss :)
