MFPers who weigh monthly or less

*note: the "less" in my topic means less often.
I'd like to know your experiences, if you don't mind sharing. I usually weigh bi-weekly, but I decided to challenge myself and not weigh for the entire month of August. No it's not too much of a stretch for me but still...I was wondering, when you do weigh yourself after a long while, do you get the results you wanted or is it stable or worse? The scale has caused me to make some bad eating choices (under-eating when I don't see a big loss) in the past few weeks that I want to cut it out for awhile and see how I do.
Experiences and input please!

I haven't weighed myself at all. At first I didn't want to get depressed, now I just don't care about that number. I'm thinking I dropped about 20 pounds in three months because of the way my old clothes don't fit. I went down a size and had to buy new clothes. For me it's about how I feel, and how I look, not how much I weigh.0

Hello,
I only weigh myself once a month the Saturday after my period. I find that i get very discouraged when I weigh myself often because my weight fluctuates so much during the month. I am a much happier person now that I don't weigh myself all the time, and am happily surprised when I do my weigh in's and see that I lost a couple of pounds.

I weigh myself very infrequently, otherwise I become completely obsessed with the number on the scale. I weighed myself for the first time in over a month, and was pleasantly surprised. For me, it comes down to watching what I eat, exercising regularly and monitoring how my clothes feel. The eating thing is harder for me than the exercise thing, but over the past several months, I've made very consistent and healthy changes. There are plenty of folks who advocate daily weigh-ins, and they have many legitimate reasons for doing so (e.g., catching a backward slide before it becomes a problem). Given my personality, a daily weigh-in simply does not work for me.0

I am like you, it can make or break me,if I don't see the number I want I go on a binge, which is silly because I can see a difference in my clothes, so I try to do it once a month as well, I just am to stressed about it. I thought I was the only one who was like that. thanks for sharing:)0

i couldnt care less about the number on the scale, i think people get too wrapped up in that number, would rather be focused on how far i can run or how fast or something like that. i have gone months without stepping on a scale to find i am within 2 lbs of where i was last time i was on the scale
i will know when i get to my goal weight by looking at my six pack but i did just sign up for the 10lb august challenge since i am competitive so i will be weighing myself at least once a week for the next couple of weeks0 -
I only weigh once a month on the first of the month. I feel if I weighed more often than that, I would be too tempted to start weighing every day & sabotage myself somehow. This past month I didn't lose anything, but didn't gain either. I'm changing things up a bit & hoping it will get me past this plateau I believe I have reached.0

I did not weight myself for the first week. I did not want to know what I weighed. After the first weigh in, and the initial shock at how much I weighed, I now find myself weighing myself at least twice a week. I know I shouldnt but I do. lol..... I dont know that I could go a whole month0

When I was trying to lose I weighed once per week. As I got closer to goal I weighed more often. Now that I am trying to maintain (lost an additional 6 pounds after hitting goal), I weigh every day. I don't let the number control me or my day, but for me it is now just part of my day and I hope to continue to maintain.0
