Skin irritation in skin folds

Ever since I had my c section 9 months ago, I've been getting red irritated skin in the skin fold. I have also been getting it in the skin folds by my thighs (although not as often or as bad). Not to sound gross, but when ever I get it, it also smells. I thought it was possibly an infection, but doctor already ruled that out/tested it for common skin infections and they were all negative.
Any one have any suggestions on how to prevent the irritation? I try to keep the area as dry as possible.

You could try a nappy rash type cream

I sometimes get a little yeast rash in my c section fold, and what helps is antifungal cream (like for athlete’s foot), or you can get prescription nystatin powder or cream. And I make sure to dry it out really well after showers, using my hair dryer on cool. It usually clears up really quickly once I do those things!0

I’ve had this under my breast. I found washing it and applying powder or cornstarch to heal it.0

Hmmm... when I had skin fold problems, I didn't get tested for anything, but the smell usually indicates a problem with yeast.
My doctor gave me a prescription cream that was a combination of an anti-fungal and a steroid to clear up the rash.
Before it had got to the point I saw the doctor, I had treated it at times with either Gold bond powder and/or cortisone cream with some success.
Fortunately, access to anti-fungals and steroid creams can be had over the counter. Both are worth a shot.1 -
Thank you everyone, will go later and get antifungal cream and see it it helps.I sometimes get a little yeast rash in my c section fold, and what helps is antifungal cream (like for athlete’s foot), or you can get prescription nystatin powder or cream. Glad to know I'm not the only one.1
