I have a dial scale and sometimes its annoying, but for the most part I can still read it fine - the dial is huge.

I prefer digital as well. I find it's easier to read.

Had a dial scale up until about a month ago when I bought my Taylor 7506 from Walmart. ($23 plus free shipping!) I love my new digital scale. My old one wan't real clear so I would bend down to make sure I was reading the right number and the number would change. Definitely digital!

I have digital scale from Weight Watchers and I LOVE IT. It is very accurate. Like $15 at target.

    I prefer digital.

I had a dial scale and I guess it needed to be re-calibrated. When I stepped on a digital scale, there was 10 lb margin of error and the error was not in my favor! LOL

Walmart has a nice digital scale for under $30. It's worth the investment. =)

Digital. Bought a Tanita from Amazon.com last year and it is very accurate.

I like the digitals. If you are unsure of it's accuracy, weigh something that you know the weight of and see if the scale comes at or close to the same number.

I have owned both dial & digital. The dial scale seems to be more accurate to me. The digital scales are touchy about where you step. Step on in the middle it reads one thing & step a little to the left or right & it reads another. I think it's just about personal preference.

I work for a company that calibrates laboratory equipment and I can tell you digital scales are more accurate in general than analog.

Did that with a 5 lb bag of sugar on my Tanita. It was right on!

digital because I can't see the numbers on a dial scale with my glasses off! Can't have those counting towards my weight lol
  • Just going to say that I prefer analog...it lies to me a little bit, kind of sugar coats things. It may tell me I'm a little lower then I am. BUT I also like that I can add five to ten pounds to it when I need to motivate myself....digital scales are just too honest. ;)

I had a very nice digital years ago, but it broke down. This time, I purchased a cheap analog (dial) scale which needs constant adjustments. It is reading 7 pounds lighter than the "doctor's" scale I use at my fitness center. Therefore, I've decided to stick with the scale at the fitness club.

I weigh in on Friday mornings, and tomorrow morning, I'm going to weigh myself on two scales at the fitness club (out of curiousity, to compare).

My plans are to do some consumer research before purchasing a HIGH QUALITY scale.

Same exact thing! I just threw away my dial scale. I HATED it. Too hard to read, would have to bend down which yeah obviously moves the pointer, but I couldn't see what line the pointer was on! And I just bought that same exact scale but from Amazon and I love it!

My digital doesn't have decimal points and I'm good with that. I'm obsessive enough has it is.
