The Honest Truth

In all honesty, I enjoy working out at home. When I workout at home, I don't have to worry about anyone judging me, I don't have to wear certain clothes, and I don't have to find time. When I workout, I prefer workout programs from Mom's into Fitness & Beachbody!
I enjoy Mom's into Fitness because the trainer is very sweet, understanding, knowledgeable, and gifted. She shares all of her workouts online, many of which are free, and those that cost money are inexpensive. After baby #2 was born, I found her loving character to be very welcoming. It was also encouraging to see that she has had a C-section and multiple kids, and yet still looks the way she does (amazing). It was huge for me that my post-partum body was able to function again with her help... For that, I am and always will be grateful to #momsintofitness
After losing most of my pre-pregnancy weight and really digging into the world of fitness, a friend recommended I try #Beachbody. Having done P90X (a Beachbodyt program), I thought I'd I've about program a try. I, then learned, Beachbody had hundreds of workouts available. I felt like I had stumbled across the Netflix of workouts... Bwhahaha.
That said, Beachbody is not the be-all-end-all. There are many programs that work out there! Do what works for you, what you're comfortable with. No matter what program or products YOU are using; whether you go to the gym and use a personal trainer, you do free workout programs at home, you purchase a program, or you do couch to 5K. We don't all have to like and live the same lives. Our lives are different. We are different! Do what you love and what feels natural to you.
And if nothing you're doing is working or feels natural to you, try something new, get help. There is nothing wrong with trying what's out there...
To be honest, I almost didn't try Beachbody. I had to look past all the marketing tactics that were offensive to me, and start seeing what the product could actually do for me. Even after completing 1400+ Beachbody workouts and becoming a coach myself, I watched a very successful coach on YouTube tell everyone her body was icky, and that anyone as icky as her pre-program self needed to make a change. It broke my heart! Her icky self was 10 times more beautiful and in shape than mine.
I, of course, completely DISAGREE with her philosophy. We shouldn't ever demoralize or compare ourselves to others! We are all beautiful no matter what shape or side). We are all in different places, facing different struggles. Our struggles are what make us unique, what glorify God... And NO ONE should ever demoralize themselves or others because of it.
If your fitness coach or trainer is doing this to you, I recommend you find someone that builds you up and supports you in an encouraging way.
Like most places of enjoyment, there are good employees and the are bad employees. We don't stop buying or trying new products just because the greater, waiter, salesman hurt us. We find the employee that is friendly and can help us with our needs.
That said, Beachbody does employ many great coaches and trainers. Don't let the bad ones discourage you from trying a great product.
Coaches/ trainers, I implore you to really look at what your saying and how it is being perceived. (If you must, take an anonymous poll to assess your message.)
Moving forward, if I've ever made you feel wronged, please forgive me. If I've ever annoyed you, (and I'm sure I have) PEASE forgive me. I genuine care abou you and the message I'm sending. I want nothing else than to be a reflection of Christ and to honor him in all that I do!!!

@suzannesimmons3 No, I'm reflecting. That's why I posted in motivation and support. I genuinely feel this way and hate that so many are being hurtful for a sale.1

I'm confused about the part where Beachbody became a religion...5

@alateriel75 I'm confused about where you even got that idea. It's pretty clear that it isn't a religion, nor have I made it one.

Yeah, I was accused of trying to sell Beachbody because I was so enthusiastic about it. I'm not a coach, I don't take a single one of their shakes/supplements. I quite literally only subscribe to BOD but apparently, that's too much. As if somehow wasting time looking for free workouts on YouTube or taking the non-professional advice of other people is more legitimate. Okay...
I don't get the impression that you're trying to sell it. I hate the attitude on MFP that if you're genuinely into something, you must be trying to sell it. Maybe what you're 'into' is helping other people find what works for them because you remember what it was like when you hated every workout you tried and felt completely hopeless and sometimes you STILL feel like that.
I love Beachbody. Access to such a wide range of workouts has really helped me find what I like and what works for me. Changing my attitude towards food brought me a good portion of the way but discovering workouts I look forward to doing brought me much further in my goal of actually being healthy. Losing 140lbs and keeping it off is what works for me and Beachbody workouts are part of that. What's wrong with that? Absolutely nothing.2 -
Omg I LOVE Shaun T! Hip Hop abs is what really got me into sticking with fitness every day on my own a few years back. That and Brazilian Butt Lift. I still incorporate some of the moves from both into my workout when I do body weight exercises.
I’m a fan of Beachbody workouts (though I only tried a couple) and just skip all the rest of the coach/supplement/diet stuff.2 -
@ccruz985 thank you!!! I was really hurt by the comments prior. Thank you for understanding and for your kindness.1
