The past few weeks have been difficult for my food intake. I know what my calories need to be in order to get what I want but I I am just always hungry. Started taking a supplement that is supposed to help with food cravings. Any other advice?

What's your height, weight, sex, current weight and goal weight? And how many calories are you eating every day? Are you tracking them with a food scale? Do you work out - if so, are you eating back all your calories? How do you calculate your calorie burn?

What you want isn't always what you can have, or need, or should. Your calories have to be set correctly, you have to log correctly and hit that goal consistently, and still you'll only lose as fast as your body allows. What's your sex, age, height and weight? If you're eating an appropriate amount of calories, and balanced and varied, you should only feel a pleasant "emptyness" most of the time, satisfied after meals, and really hungry just before meals. Make sure you're eating food you like, and in a schedule that's easy to stick to. Sometimes you'll just want to eat, no matter how well nourished and happy you are. Those cravings can be annoying, but everybody has them, and you just have to decide to eat or not eat.

No supplements are effective for cravings, and if they were, you'd get a massive rebound when you got off them. If you're hungry because you eat too little, they won't work, and if they worked, you'd risk malnourishment. There's no way around these things.

There's a big difference between hunger and craving. There are different things you can do to combat each of them.

agree there is a difference between cravings and hunger.

For cravings there seems to be two camps: cutting out the foods you crave or finding a way to incorporate the foods you crave into your calorie goal. You will have to find what works for you.

For hunger make sure you calorie goal is appropriate. Consider your meal timing, some people do better eating small frequent meals, some prefer larger spaced out meals. Some people find a large breakfast helps ward off hunger, others find delaying their first meal of the day works better for them. Sometimes it just takes a bit of experimentation to figure out how you are happiest.

Did a doctor give you the supplement? If not, it won't do anything. If you're hungry all the time and can't stay in a deficit, try eating just under maintenance. Like, less than .5 lbs loss per week. Do that for a while just to conquor the hunger, then slowly start cutting more. In that time, focus on foods that you find satisfying AND filling.

Try to eat something that will keep you full longer. I eat 1/2 cup oatmeal with like 90 g of Banana sliced around 2:30 pm depending on my last break at work. I know it will be at least 5 pm until dinner. Works for me, try it if you'd like, cheer!!

hoonestly i was forced to take the approach of feeding out cravings- I just eat metric *kitten* loads of fruit/veg pretty constantly through most days. Iv found i like to eat more at night so i put it off my meals and then eat non stop till bed. I like a hot meal for dinner can get away with cold foods for the rest, but then i crave bread and donuts and cereal at night if i skip the fat in that hot meal, For example. Its really all about finding your bodies needs. Mine apparently just needs to be fed non stop most days lol. Some days the cravings still kick in hard- But its easier to not give in constantly when i know its coming and plan around it. Stuff like above or just keeping that stuff out of my house. Just needed to reflect internally a bit and accept my "flaws" -Its not a flaw i just cant think of a beter word you understand lol-
