I dread the day that gyms have signs saying "Please no compound movements. Machines only"0 -

I can understand about clean and jerks because they can **** up the floors, but what exactly is the problem with T-rows and Overhead Presses? I swear if this gym wasn't so dirt cheap, I'd go somewhere else.0 -
Any lift can **** up floors if the person lifting is a tool and uses a weight they cannot control. They should just have signs saying dropping heavy weights on floors will lose your membership.0

but but... look at the pretty purple and yellow machines. doesn't that distract you from the fact that you can't do anything good? They're purple. and yellow.0

Lol! What do you expect from a gym with purple equipment?0

This. Lmao!!!0 -
I would be in there doing dumbbell front presses and single dumbbell rows next to the sign daily.
Edit: Seriously, I think they are trying to avoid anything that might make you grunt like you're putting forth effort because it offends oversensitive people. If you start sweating, they may move you to a fan until you stop.0 -
Haha I used to go to a PF but they closed down the one by my house... And still expected its members to pay for another 2 months. Not my best gym experience.0

Yeah but from my understanding clean and jerks require you to drop the weight from the top of the lift, and if you're using metal weights, that's not so great.0 -

I hate that they have tootsie rolls sitting next to the check in.
Thats a little ridiculous.
And pizza days, and bagel days.0 -
Purple and yellow?!? Just looking at the picture makes me seasick.0
-
seriously??? they have pizza days? wtf. how is that going to help anyone in any way shape or form other than the pizza makers?0

What the heck is wrong with overhead presses??0

I wish every gym had a sign that said that. That's one of the reasons I never wandered in the weight area when I had a membership. I was terrified of all the dropped weights. You could hear loud thuds even in the locker rooms. That's the last noise I want to hear when I'm mostly naked.0 -
Lol, that sign makes me giggle. People at X-Sport are always grunting, dropping weights and making a ton of noise even though there are signs that say not too.. because honestly, it's a gym. Weights will be dropped no matter what.
X-Sport too has it's "customer appreciation days" and they have a huge food table with pizza, veggies and dips, cake, samples of muscle milk/sports drinks, etc. I've personally never indulged because honestly, you don't know how long that crap has been sitting out or what person touched it.0 -

I go to a hardcore gym with some serious lifters and not one of them ever drops the weights. One guy even has his own dumbells with his name on it because they ordered them especially for him because he could lift everything else. i think they're at least 200 lbs. he never drops them. All that dropping and grunting is, for the most part, from wannabe's who are allowing their ego to dictate how much they should lift rather than their ability. For the most part. I am not saying that everyone who drops them is like that. lol0 -
The whole gym is contradiction, their motto is "no judgment" and yet they judge u and "call" u names"lunk" if u drop weights and grunt. No bandanas , jeans, boots ,muscle shirts, bags come on and u say no judgement zone, BULL. And yet at the PF I'm at i see ppl with forbidden clothing. Grunting is good in moderation, its not like ppl grunt every time they do a rep. Grunting is bad but inconsiderate ppl that talk laud that i can hear them thru my earphones is fine. One more month and I'm out of there.0
